Hey, how was every one's weekend?? Mine was great, the boyfriend and I had a date night, I finished all of my homework already, and I found this dress I forgot I had.  I put the dress away about a year ago and I guess it's one of those out of sight out of mind kind of things.  Has that ever happened to you?  When you forget about something you had and then find it again?? It's always a good feeling right? I've had this dress for years but even after all this time I still feel amazing in it.

I love the the feeling of complete relaxation of this outdoor patio.  Don't all these curtains make you feel like the mid-afternoon breeze is about to blow by??  It makes me want to lay out here with a good book and a big glass of lemonade waiting for the sun to go down.  

I love orange paired with neutral colors and nature like sea greens. I think the skirt has a  perfectly breezy  kind of feel and would fall beautifully along any body.  Although it's a bit hard to tell, the top actually has some pretty beading that would definitely glisten in the summer sun.

How was everybody's weekend??  After  starting school last week I spent most of my weekend doing homework...I haven't drawn so much in a long time.  One thing I did do during the weekend was get this skirt. Stripes are one of my obsessions...usually I wear them on top but I couldn't resist this cute mini skirt.  I wanted to keep it simple and just paired it with a light pink knotted shirt and threw on this necklace that I wore as a bracelet.  I love the contrast and the pop of unexpected color it gives to my outfit. The locket I'm wearing was a gift from my boyfriend I got about 7 years ago.  It's the one piece of jewelry I actually keep up with...as you may have noticed I keep my accessories simple or sometimes don't even wear any...I know I'm bad.  I kind of wish I had more accessories. What is the one thing you wish you had more of??

I Get What I Want

Lately I've been seeing neon colored skirts popping up everywhere on some of my favorite blogs.  I couldn't help but notice how great these girls looked and I suddenly had dreams of having one of my own.  So what did I do??  I went out and bought fabric and made it myself.  I couldn't be happier with the results and I could really notice the improvement in my sewing skills :)  I think neon colored bottoms look best with neutral colored shoes and these bow heels have been a favorite this summer.  What have been some of the current fashion trends you have been wanting to try??

Strawberry Red

Since the summer started this dress has been my go to dress if I just want to hang out at home or run into town.  It's comfortable to wear and perfect for this hot weather and the color and print feels perfect for summer. Red actually happens to be one of my favorite colors to wear...what's yours?? Every time I wear this dress, the look is always a bit different.  This time I added a belt I bought when I visited my sister in D.C., later on in the day I added some gold hoops and bangles.  I have a really bad habit of leaving earrings, rings, and bracelets in my car...I don't know why. This is my last weekend before school starts so I'm going to do my best to enjoy what I have left of my summer...what are you all doing this weekend??  Hope it's a good one :)

Interior Design Turned Fashion -Golden Highlights

When I saw this pic I instantly fell for this vibrant purple wall with all the beautiful gold accents.  It looks lovely right?? Although I hadn't thought much before of the two colors mixed together, lately I've been dreaming up the possibilities of outfits in this color combo.  I also can't help but love this sexy retro hairstyle paired with this look.

My Happy 4th

My family makes this cake every year for the 4th of July.

Blueberries and raspberries...delicious :)

We also celebrated with cheeseburgers and a few competitive games of croquet.

 This year fireworks were banned because we haven't had rain in months.

Total bummer but we were able to see a show off in the distance from the boyfriends home.

I Want to be a Cupcake Queen

Every time I wear this shirt I feel a bit inspired to go and bake cupcakes. I don't know why but I guess I want to look this good when I'm baking...and of course my favorite thing to bake is cupcakes.  What's your favorite thing to bake??  Today's been a lazy day just relaxing so a cute tee is perfect for hanging out all day.  What have you all been up to?  Any plans for the holidays??
