A Month of Florals // Easy Floral Nails

Do you do floral nails? This was my first time trying a floral design and I'm completely loving this ultra girly style. I tried another design of a more painted rose look but using a dotting tool to create this style of flower was really easy. When doing designs on myself, I always like to go with something that's easy enough to paint on both of my hands. I went with a classic pink and green color combo but go with whatever you fancy...have fun with it.
I placed a little bit of polish on a piece of paper. Leaving the polish on the paper too long will cause it to get tacky, so I suggest doing the floral design on both of your at the same time rather than doing one hand completely and moving on to the next. Of course you can always dip the dotting tool in the polish instead...it's up to you.
Dip the dotting tool into the polish and form your flowers. My flowers are six dots. If you don't have a dotting tool, don't worry. You can always put a pin into the end of a pencil eraser and use that like I did in this candy button nail tutorial.
Add a few green polka dots.
This part is totally optional, but I added a glitter accent nail as well. You can never go wrong with a little sparkle right?
And they're all done!! If you try this, I would love to see. Share it with me on insta #sobdamonthofflorals

Shark Cupcake Toppers + Printable

Do you girls watch Shark Week? Chris got me into it about two years ago and I'll admit I got hooked after watching the first episode. Now every time I go to the beach I get a bit if-y about going too far into the water. I love the beach so much though, I don't let it stop me...you can't keep this girl away from the ocean. Anyway we can't wait to watch Shark Week this weekend. If any of you are like me, then you know you need something just a little fun to celebrate! I drew these sharks and made pretty much one of the scariest things into the cutest cupcake topper and you can have them too!!
Oh and if this is going to be a celebration, well then you know...you're going to need party sharks!!
Yeah, these guys are super excited about shark week...party hats and swimming in an ocean of sprinkles!!!
So much fun right?!

update: you can now find the party sharks in my etsy shop!

A Month of Florals // Instagram Favorites

Hey everyone so I'm going to start this new thing around here where I have a word of the month and create fun posts with it. I was really inspired by the girls over at Treasures and Travels and thought it would be a great to stay more organized and still have fun being creative. This feature will just be mixed in with all the regular good stuff. So for August, I'm starting off with a month of florals...what girl doesn't love flowers? Oh this is going to be fun! I've always felt like I was one of those girls that had a ton of pics of cupcakes on my instagram but it's looking like I'm a flower kind of girl. But you know...when you bring fresh flowers home, it's kind of impossible not to snap a pic. They're just so pretty!! What kind of photos do you think you take the most of on instagram?

Black and White Summer

Blouse: Gifted, Shorts: Thrifted, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, Bag: Thrifted
Over the weekend we went to see Fall Out Boy!! They were just as good as they've always been. Oh and Paramore was pretty great too and we were like this close to getting confetti bombed. Not sure why that's a thing with me, but I've always wanted to get confetti bombed. With as many concerts as I've been to, you would think that I have but when I'm super close, no confetti. Then when there is confetti, I'm barely missing it. Oh you've been confetti bombed? lucky you! I went with some skinny jeans and a  fall out boy tee that chris bought me for the concert. This outfit is from the day after. I love my litas but I'm not about to wear them to a concert lol. Black and white outfits have been what my summer's about.

A Sweet Idea // Ice Cream Sandwich Love

I kind of missed national donut day so when I found out that national ice cream sandwich day was around the corner, I knew I had to show some holiday spirit. I mean who doesn't like celebrating fun holidays that involve only the best of desserts? So in honor of National Ice Cream Sandwich Day tomorrow, I thought I'd show you how I'll be celebrating. I made what I'll call the ultimate ice cream sandwich in a cup. All I did was cut up an ice cream sandwich and added my favorite ice cream flavor (mint chocolate chip) in between the two pieces. Top with another layer of your favorite flavor and get ready to enjoy! So yummy!!
