Unexpected Partner

Dress worn as a top: Simply Vera Wang, Skirt: Thrifted, Belt: Thrifted, Shoes Target

This weekend I went out with my family to celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday. I knew I had to wear this skirt for a night out. The last time I wore the skirt was when the boyfriend had surprised me with a romantic diner at his place.  I spent most of the night dancing with my sis and a Nicole Scherzinger look a like.  I'm used to guys being the type to want to just start touching/grinding on someone while dancing but when this girl did it to me, I was a bit surprised.  I'm not into all the dirty dancing whether it's guy on girl or girl on girl.  After I moved my body from hers, she said just wanted to dance and her boyfriend didn't like to dance. I'm all for having a good time so when I was on the dance floor we danced with each other just not on each other.

The boyfriend's not really into r&b/pop top 40's kind of music so he doesn't mind when I hit the dance floor with my sisters, the girls, or by myself...but put on some country music and you can't take him off the dance floor.

When you go out, who's your dance partner?

After all the dancing, we stopped by the pizza place next door to the lounge.  Yum, what's better than pizza at 2 in the morning?

Dancing in Confetti

Last week I attended fashion night out.  It was my first time joining in on all the festivities and I had so much fun.  Next year me and my sisters are doing it again hopefully with money to spend.  My main reason for going this year was to attend the fashion show.  I got to be part of the big finale and danced in a flash mob on the runway as confetti fell . It was fun to play the part of attending the show and surprising the guest, especially the ones I had been talking to as the fashion show was going on.  They started giving me these crazy looks like what's going on when I started to clap my hands and make my way onto the runway. I haven't danced or performed in front of an audience since about 2 years ago and although I was only in the spotlight for a minute, it made me miss dancing and performing desperately.

Did any of you join in on the fno fun?

Fall Tease

Cardigan; Thrifted, Dress: Forever 21, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: Charlotte Russe

I decided to participate in the remix challenge over at Megan Mae Daily.  Wednesday's challenge was to remix a summer dress for fall.  You can see how I wore it during the summer here. In the mornings it's actually been really breezy and cool...it almost feels like fall is really here so I was really excited to participate in the challenge today.  I paired my floral dress with some knee high boots and a stripe cardigan to add some fall touches. I've already switched out of the boots but today's challenge really got me excited for the near future.

Another Day, Another Concert

This holiday weekend was filled with concerts...yesterday we went to the uproar festival.  The three bands I wanted to see was Seether, Three Days Grace, and Avenged Sevenfold.  I've actually seen Avenged Sevenfold 3 times in the past year and they've gotten better each time I see them.  The first time I saw them I honestly wasn't too impressed, the second time I became a true fan, and yesterday they pretty much blew me away. I usually don't wear  concert t-shirts to concerts but I decided to be like the boyfriend and go in his usual concert attire. He bought me this shirt back in April when we saw Avenged Sevenfold in San Antonio. I've had these tights for forever but this is actually the first time I've worn them.  And of course I had to go in my black booties, for some reason they make me feel ready for some good rock music. How did you all spend the long weekend?

Here's a video of the concert, my camera kept refocusing but oh well.

A Dizzy Afternoon

Yesterday I had some time to just play around with this adorable little one.  This is Bella, my niece, and she is finally here in Texas to stay!  For her first and second birthday I went to go visit her while she was living in D.C.  You can read about my D.C. travels here.  I put on this skirt and wore it as a dress just because I found it stashed away in the back of my closet and thought it would be fun to play a little bit of dress up.  Oh do you notice that the scarf I had braided in my hair is now being used as a double to wrap around my waist?  Yesterday we had a nice breeze so we were actually outside having a good time.  After the first time that I picked up Bella and spun around in circles, that's pretty much what the rest of the afternoon consisted of.  I was a bit dizzy but how could I resist that cute face when she kept saying, "Again Erica, again!" Aside from getting dizzy together, we also like reading and counting.  We count in English, Spanish, and French, although in French we only get to number 14.  She happens to find it the funniest word or something and just laughs at me every time I say it.

Hope you all have a great weekend with your loved ones :)
