I had been searching for a denim button up for the longest time and once I added one to my closet it was really hard not to wear it multiple times within one week. I love that it's one of those pieces in your closet that is so versatile...it just works with everything and it makes it easy to pull off whatever look you are going for. Here's how I've been wearing mine lately.

Look 1

Denim on denim. Just add a statement necklace for a pulled together casual outfit.

Look 2

Wear your denim with a fun party skirt for a night out. Of course we all know a tutu skirt is my top choice.

Look 3

Tie your denim over a favorite summer dress. Colorful florals are perfect and pretty for the season.

Fashion Chemistry//Leather Skirt

Lately I've been trying to save more money. For me that means less shopping, especially online shopping...I had gotten pretty bad at that. So for now on I'm going to be doing a lot of fashion chemistry, mixing and trying new outfit combinations. Here's how I've been wearing my leather skirt.

Fashion Chemistry: Asymmetrical Skirt

The moment I received this skirt, I started dreaming up the ways to wear it. The skirt is meant to be worn from side to side so it falls at an angle but I've been loving the high low trend that I couldn't resist trying it out with this skirt.

This is how the skirt would normally be worn only that I decided to pull up the skirt to an empire waist line. I've always liked a hem line that falls at an angle across the legs and then having a floral print along it doesn't hurt either.

I think this is a fun way to change up an asymmetrical skirt. It's a great way to get creative with your wardrobe and there are so many different possibilities to come up with. I love the draped I created with this one gives the skirt a short and flirty look.

Fashion Chemistry: Button Up

I've been having a thing for tying and knotting up shirts lately. I think it's a fun way to crop your top and feels more like summer...plus ties and knots just look great with everything like skirts, pants, and cutoffs. Have fun with it.

Layering a button up over a dress and adding a belt is the perfect way to take a dressy look and make it more casual. It's one of those easy day to night kind of outfits.

I think layering your button up under a tank is a fun way to layer in the summer. I knotted the tank in the back to make it cropped so I could show off the button up a bit more.

Fashion Chemistry: Maxi Skirt

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I had a lot of fun showing you all how I like to experiment with my clothing to get more ways out of wearing it, so I thought I would do it again. 

Pulling up the lining is hands down my favorite way to wear this skirt. I love that it has an edgier feel to it and it's so much more interesting that a plain solid skirt. If you have a maxi that has a sheer layer, definitely try this out. It's a great way to take a long skirt and really make it work for all those hot summer days.

I've always tried the dress as a skirt look but this was my first time reversing the roles. It's a fun way to try the midi trend that has been around lately without having to spend money on it. This kind of look has endless possibilities...you can pair it with a knotted up tee, a crop cardigan like me, or belt it up. Whatever is more your style, just make sure to cinch in your waist so you don't become shapeless.

This is a fun look to completely transform your maxi skirt. When I first did this, I fell for the drape and the asymmetrical hem line...I think it gives the skirt so much character.  All it took was a chunky knot....so simple. If you do try the knotted up look just make sure to tie above your knees so that you can easily walk around.

Fashion Chemistry

I'll be honest with you. I don't have the biggest wallet to buy new clothes all the time. Experimenting with your closet can be so much fun, and I feel like I've gotten better at mixing pieces and making them into something different. I guess it only makes sense, chemistry was one of my favorite subjects in school. I think it's good to find ways to get more from your clothing so I wanted to show you how I took one dress to create 3 different ways to wear it.

Taking a dress and wearing it as a skirt I think is a fun way to be girly without looking too formal. It gives you the chance to play around with whatever you are wearing on top to really create the mood you want. 

I think this is such a great look for a strapless dress, especially when you don't feel like showing off your back and shoulders. Depending on the kind of shirt you pair it with, you can even give it a more casual feel. 

Wearing the dress as a top and pairing with a maxi, gives you the best of both worlds. You get to keep the pretty neckline from your dress but you don't have to worry about showing off your legs.
