Swirls of Color

My boyfriend recently bought me a sewing machine...isn't he sweet?  This skirt is the first thing I decided to make.  When looking for fabric I wanted something with bright colors for summer.  I have so many dark clothing in my closet that I desperately needed a change.  I instantly fell in love with the swirls of pinks in the floral design.  It seems that floral and pinks have been inspiring me lately...anyway I think it turned out pretty good for a first try.  I can't wait to see how my other little projects turn out.

A whirlwind of Butterflies

I've noticed that many of the items in my closet are solid colors which is probably why I love this dress so much.  The really pretty print just stands out to everything else in my closet.  The colors are beautiful and the butterflies make me happy that spring is finally near.  This weekend the weather was gorgeous and plans for the beach and barbecues are already being made.  How was your weekend?

Sometimes a Bad thing can be a Good thing...

I love these jeans because they're stretchy, which is a must when you go to eat out at a BBQ restaurant.  My family has been coming to this place for forever and I always get the same thing.  It's a loaded baked potato with chopped beef.  I would have posted a picture, but seriously you would probably gain about 5 pounds just looking at it.  It's completely unhealthy but I bet all the bad stuff  is what makes it taste so good.   What are some the foods  you love that you eat even if they're not completely healthy?

No snow...just icicles like this. Either way I'm a happy girl.

Party for my brother's 21st.

It's True

I've been to a few different states...Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, Nevada, Virginia, California, and have driven through countless many.  Driving from Texas to Florida in non-stop rain was probably the worst...I definitely don't want to do that again.  California comes in on top then Virginia (Washington D.C.) at a close second. Sorry Texas :(  don't get me wrong I like you but it's mainly because my family lives here. Sometimes I think I would love to leave Texas but I don't think I could ever be states away from my entire family.  If you could move to a different state would you?  

When There's Not Enough Time

I had planned on buying a new dress or something a little more festive but time always gets the best of me and I used what was in my closet. I spent the last hours of 2010 in the one color I can't stay away from and thankfully the blouse came with a belt that had some sparkle to it. This happens to be one of about 5 pictures I took from the night. I completely forgot to use my camera...lots of dancing was going on. I did remember to take pictures of the chocolate dipped marshmallows I made for the party. It was perfect because it took hardly any time to make and they were a hit at the party.

To make I used:

marshmallows

sprinkles

chocolate candy coating

All I had to do was heat up the chocolate until melted and dip the marshmallows in the chocolate and then the sprinkles...so easy.

Purple and Grey

Purple and grey are two of my most favorite colors...I love to wear anything in grey but this is actually the only piece of clothing I own in purple. I got this pretty asymmetrical cardigan as a gift from my sister for Christmas...it's so soft and comfy. I thought it would look great with the flower brooch I made earlier that day...I think it pulls everything together. Anyway I think it's funny how I hardly own any clothing in my favorite colors. My closet is overflowing with black...it's seems to be my go to color. What colors do you like to wear the most?

Ready to Relax

It finally started to get cooler outside...I can't wait for the temperature to really drop. This warm weather is about the only thing that doesn't feel like Christmas. Anyway I'm so happy that all my gifts are wrapped and under the tree. I think this is the first year I'm not going to be up at late hours still wrapping gifts so I'm pretty proud of myself. Well I can finally enjoy myself, I'll be spending my time with my family. Just want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday!!
