Day to Night // Chunky Sweater

 Sweater  Day: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4  Night: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

The past few days have been an up and down spiral of hot and cold. Can't the weather just make up it's mind already? In the meantime here's how I would take a chunky sweater (cool weather wardrobe essential) from day to night.

Day
1. Keep the sun out of those gorgeous eyes...neutral ones for daytime.
2. A fun print to pair under a chunky sweater...this one's for all the cat ladies like me.
3. Give your outfit a pop with a punchy colored bag.
4. Fun cutout booties keep things interesting.

Night
1. Wear a not so usual bag for the night...this one holds all the essentials.
2. Dress up a casual sweater with statement jewels.
3. Sleek heels keep things dressy even when not wearing a skirt/dress.
4. Leather takes leggings to the next level with a bit of sheen.

Which look would you wear? Day? Night? Or both?

Day to Night//Military Jacket

Every year I see this style of a military jacket and every year I never get one. But this year, I'm determined to add that beautiful olive green to my closet. Until it actually does become a part of my wardrobe, this is how I'm dreaming of taking it from day to night.

Day
1. A pink ice cream cone tee just lets the world know that you're the kind of girl that likes to have fun.
2. My go to style for jeans, skinny and dark.
3. I always love a good nude heel, textured caps are just a bonus.

Night
1. Dainty polka dots...simple and sweet.
2. Add a little drama with statement jewels, let your inner royal come out.
3. Keep things classy with pointed black heels.
4. Dreamy tulle skirts dress up anything. Feel fancy all night long in a skirt like this.

Which look would you wear? Day? Night? or Both?

Day to Night//Stripe Tee

It's been awhile since I've done a day to night post but when I noticed I was wearing one of my favorite tees all the time I decided it would be fun to make a set with a stripe tee. Stripes are my absolute favorite and I think almost everyone has one in their closet, they are just so versatile.
For a daytime look, I like to keep my stripes casual with some denim shorts and flats. Denim, black, and olive has quickly become one of my favorite color combinations...I love this studded vest with a stripe tee.
A skirt is always key to dressing up a simple tee especially when paired with statement pieces. I think this look is fun with neutrals and pops of color...I'm pretty much in love with this neon bag. For a night time look I also go with shoes that are going to give me extra height and elongate my legs...loving the gold detail on these wedges.

Do you have a stripe tee in your closet? Which look would you wear? Day or Night...maybe both?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

Day to Night: Plaid Button Up

As it starts to get cooler I always find myself wanting to wear plaid. Although I hardly ever have...for some reason I just want to. I guess it's a sign I need to add it to my closet. Here's how I would style it for a day to night look.

Day
This outfit seems like the kind of outfit I would want to wear for running errands all day and then stopping by Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte...yum.
1. A cute pair of shades.
2. A scarf that's cozy enough to keep you warm when it gets a bit too
chilly, a mustard color one would be my pick.
3. I'm loving these boots and their chunky heel, I would pair them under jeans and
even with skinny jeans or leggings or...ok I'm getting carried away.
4. Jeans with a good flare...I'm usually all about dark jeans but I think a lighter
pair has a better casual feel.

Night
I think this outfit has a nice contrast by keeping everything else all black. It really shows off a casual and polished mix for an interesting night look.
1. A purse that's fun for a night out...tassles? yes please!
2.  A black skirt with length. I would try a leather one, it's one of my favorite trends this season.
3. Basic black booties look good with everything and gives the look more of an edge.
4. Sparkly bobbies...perfect for dressing up your hair.

Which look would you wear? Day? Night? or Both?

Interior Design Turned Fashion: A Pop of Color

I love this room with just a few pops of color. I'm a big fan of all white and think that everything looks a bit more polished. With the outfit I wanted to keep it simple but fun like this room with a hint of berry, chandelier details, and interesting cutouts.

Just a few of my favorite things like studs & spikes, embellished collars, hearts, stripes, and shimmery metallics.

I'll be enjoying things like hamburgers and hotdogs, festive sweets, and fireworks all while wearing my 4th of July tie dye shorts. Did any of you try to make them? I would love to see how they turned out if you did.

Hope you all have a Happy fourth!

Interior Design Turned Fashion: Casual Glam

Lately I've been drawn to polka dots and I think that's what caught my attention in this room. I love the statement art with all it's simplicity of just being polka dots in a monochromatic color scheme. I've noticed that with these interior turned fashion posts I tend to create outfits with skirts which I guess is more me anyway, but this time I wanted to show you how I would dress up a more casual look. Every now and then I go for a pair of shorts and I love the contrast of taking something so casual and dressing it up with heels and red lipstick. I was also inspired by the room to style this look with accessories that have a gold mirrored look. Oh and by the way I think polka dots just make everything a bit more fun...don't you?

Interior Design Turned Fashion: Make a Statement

I haven't done one of these in awhile and almost forgotten how fun it was to create a look based off of a beautiful room. This room really caught my attention with the color palette...I love the green with fun black and white print pillows and bright pops of color.

The Fashion Look
A statement skirt worn high on the waist and a basic tee knotted up would make a fun look with bright accessories and jewelry that's simple but pretty.

Breaking Up Black

Cardigan: Borrowed, Shirt: Thrifted, Skirt: Rue 21, Tights: Target,
Boots: Charlotte Russe, Belt: Gifted

Whenever I wear a lot of black I try to wear something to draw attention elsewhere like a stripe cardigan or statement belt. My mom got me this belt for Christmas, love it. Do you like wearing all black or do you try to mix it up with a bit of color?
I went out to breakfast this morning to my family's favorite place to get tacos. This is actually the same spot where I took my first outfit post for this blog.

Interior Design Turned Fashion: Dressing up in Neutrals

The Inspiration

The Look

I liked this room because of all the neutrals with just a pop of light pink and of course the chandelier. Chandeliers just add a glam feel to anything right? I've always liked the idea of being able to dress up for a night out when it's a bit chilly without being covered in a huge jacket. I think adding a leather jacket to a form fitting dress still allows you to feel glamourous and sexy for a night out. It really doesn't take much but chandelier earrings, a variety of rings, the perfect lace up booties, and an interesting clutch to complete the look.

Oh and a messy bun just looks effortlessly sexy.

So tell me...Could you see yourself wearing this look?

Interior Design Turned Fashion: Girly Edge

The Interior Inspiration
The Look

Lately while shopping (now that I have a job) I've found myself drawn to mustard, a color I've never worn before. It's the perfect color for autumn and looks amazing paired with just about any color...like black & white in the outfit.  For this look I put together pieces with fun details like a skull ring, ruffled top, pleated skirt, and mary janes....just some of my favorite things. I can imagine myself wearing this out for a date night with the boyfriend. It's girly and pretty but still has some edge to it.

Where would you wear this look?

All Packaged Up

Today I left Texas for Washington D.C.  We were having beautiful weather back home and it's a bit cold here...it feels like winter all over again.  Which I'm not too crazy about.  I decided to pack at the last minute because that's just how I am.  I realize now that I really need to add some warmer colors to my wardrobe...I have lots of blacks and blues.

I brought my houndstooth coat that my parents gave me for Christmas and plenty of cardigans.
I like ones with sparkles...
I brought about the only winter type shirt I own...this green cardigan.  I'm not usually a turtleneck kind of girl but the color actually looks good on me.  I also threw in a little fringe and one of my fav concert T-shirts.

I brought two pairs of jeans...a flare style and skinny jeans and some leggings.
I brought this pretty dress that I've already figured out how to wear as a skirt.

I've been wearing belts that cinch my waist lately and decided to bring a basic black and one with jeweled detailing.  I always travel with this heart shaped locket...my boyfriend gave this to me years ago when we first started dating.

I didn't want to bring too much with me because all I brought was a carry-on.  By the time I left this morning I had added a black ruffled blouse, polka dot tights, and a black heart shaped ring.  Anyway all this packing has made me wish for more floral prints, pastel dresses, and lots of sheer.

Is there a favorite piece of clothing that you always bring with you when you travel?

A whirlwind of Butterflies

outfit: collected from Target over the years

I've noticed that many of the items in my closet are solid colors which is probably why I love this dress so much.  The really pretty print just stands out to everything else in my closet.  The colors are beautiful and the butterflies make me happy that spring is finally near.  This weekend the weather was gorgeous and plans for the beach and barbecues are already being made.  How was your weekend?

Where have you been all my life ?

Seriously...I instantly feel in love with Stone_Cold _Fox.  I love how these designs are feminine and have a romance about them.  Everything is made custom ordered and you can even have a Stone_Cold_Fox party.  How amazing would it be to invite a few girlfriends over for a good time of trying on the entire collection while sipping on a few drinks?  So much fun!!! They are all so gorgeous that it is extremely hard to choose a favorite but I'm really loving this next look,  the lace scalloped shorts, and the white lace skirt. These are some of the lovely pieces from their Lady Bonita 2010 Collection...enjoy!!
