Sweet Browns

I've always been into blacks but I'm really looking forward to warmer colors of caramel, cappuccino, and chocolate browns.

Rocking Out in Stripes

Yesterday I went to go see Papa Roach, one of my favorite bands.  I know I only saw them a few months ago (June to be exact) but I honestly can't help it...when they are in town I have to go see them. I couldn't take my purse into the venue so I don't have any pics of the concert but you can see about the last time I saw them here.  I know I wore this the last time I saw Papa Roach but I needed a simple tank and shorts to wear in the 109 degree heat...plus this one is signed by Jacoby (the singer) :) They put on an amazing show as always and now my neck is killing me...too much swinging my hair and banging my head. Well I hope you all had a great weekend, I sure did :)

Dreaming...

I had a tooth pulled today :(
I'm feeling so much better now :)
Hope all of your Thursdays were better than mine.
For the rest of the night I'll be dreaming off of my pain killers.

Interior Design Turned Fashion-Summer Casual

pic via

I came across this pic and the bright greens and floral pattern really caught my eye.  I knew it would be perfect for some fashion inspiration.  I usually go for extremely girly but I wanted a more casual look that would be great to wear anywhere which is why I went for jeans and sandals.  For some reason this room reminds of a room my girlfriends and I would enjoy being in just because it is so pretty. I can picture wearing this outfit out to meet my girlfriends at Starbucks for a frappacino as we catch up on all the latest gossip.
Where would you wear this look??

Off to a Busy Week

Shirt: Thrifted, Cardigan: Target, Shorts: Express, Heels: Target, Necklace: Gift

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was really good, especially since it started off with date night.  It turns out the boyfriend didn't take me out...instead when I got to his place I found dinner, wine, and candles on the table.  He had made me chicken alfredo pasta (I'm a huge lover of anything pasta)...oh and have I ever mentioned that the boyfriend is an amazing cook?? I really didn't expect a surprise dinner and although I got dressed for a night out, I wouldn't pass up the chance of a sweet romantic dinner with the boyfriend...especially one made by him.  It was a great weekend and I didn't do much but enjoy it but this morning I had so many things to do. Because I was going to be running errands all day,  I decided on this simple outfit with a bit of sparkle.

Now that I'm finally home, I'm teaching myself how to knit.  It's something I want to try to learn so I can use it in a school project.
So far this is as far as I've gotten.  I'm getting the hang of it but wish me luck :)
Have you ever tried knitting?

All Dressed Up For Date Night :)

Shirt: Thrifted, Skirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Target, Headband: Sea of Blooming Dreams

Me and the boyfriend are going out tonight but he wouldn't tell me where.  That's okay, I always like a good surprise.  The only problem is sometimes I'm not sure how to dress for the occasion so I decided on something casual but still girly and dressed up because that's how I like to do things. I love this shirt for the casual feel while still being flirty and fun with the ruffle detail and I think it looks great with this black skirt that has become a favorite in my wardrobe.  Oh and how do you all like my headband?? I plan on selling them in my etsy shop soon. Anyway I'm out to spend time with my love.

What are you all up to this weekend??  Do tell :)
Enjoy the weekend.

Dunk Margarita

As I've mentioned last week was pretty stressful and by the time the weekend came all I really wanted was a drink.  Chris said he had the perfect thing for me.  Before I knew it we were at the store buying everything we needed to make a dunk margarita.  Have any of you ever had one before?? It was my first time and after watching Chris make the first one, making them for the rest of the night was a breeze.  Now I normally don't like Dos Equis to drink as beer alone but mixed with the margarita it was perfection.

All you need is
1. Cazadores Reposado Tequila
2. Triple Sec
3. Simple Syrup
4. Dos Equis
5. Lemon
6. Lime
7. Orange

Tools
1. Squeezer
2. Jigger (to measure "parts" of ingredients)
3. Shaker

How To

1. Start off by squeezing a lemon and measure 1/2 part in the jigger...add this to your shaker
2. Repeat for limes and oranges
3. Measure 1 part of Simple Syrup and added to shaker
4. Measure 1/2 part of triple sec and added to shaker
5. Measure 1 1/2 parts of tequila and added to shaker

Wishful Thinking

Dress: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Wedges: Marshalls

This week has been so easy going...such a big change from last week.  I like it better this way :)
Lately I've been living in this dress. I've worn it so many times since I bought it about a month ago. It's just so easy to throw on when you want to feel dressed up without putting much effort. Plus I'm really loving this berry shade of purple on me...I think it may just be my color for the upcoming fall season.  I know fall is still a long way from now, but I'm already wishing for some cooler weather to wear leggings, tights, and layers.  Is it bad that I'm already thinking about fall clothing...please tell me I'm not the only one.

Interior Design Turned Fashion--Summer Stripes

The Inspiration

pic via

When creating this look I wanted to show a summer style that I would definitely wear for Madeline's contest over at Cappuccino and Fashion.  Although I'm usually all about color, I love this room with it's neutral shades of black, brown, grey, and white which gives a completely relaxing comfortable feel. I think feeling comfortable in what you're wearing is all about confidence and for me I feel the most confident in heels. My go to look is usually a skirt, short, or dress with heels. At all cost during the summer I try to avoid pants if I can, the heat here is just too bad to be covered up. Stripes of course are one of my obsessions that I think look best in black and white and I love the drape this tank gives.  Add a cute clutch, some great accessories and sheer lip gloss and you're good to go.

Giveaway Winner!!

I hope all of you had a good week.  My lack of posting was due to midterm projects.  I think this week I got the least amount of sleep than I have in months.  I got really good feedback on my projects so hopefully it was all worth it.  This weekend I'm off to enjoy my weekend with some much needed rest.  Next week I'll be back with a full week of posts so be ready :)  Hope all of you enjoy the weekend.

I also wanted to announce the giveaway winner...

Congratulations to Hannah Elizabeth :)

Please email your contact info so you can get this pretty print shipped out to you.

Layered

Yesterday was Chris' mother's birthday and apparently I'm the official birthday cake baker.  Really I don't mind, I'm actually quite flattered that they like my baking because we all know I'm not the best at cooking.  So far this year I made 3 different cakes for the boyfriend's birthday back in March, his dad and brother's cake a month ago (they share the same birthday...kind of cool right), and now his mom's cake. Chris asked if I could be a little creative and I have always wanted to try the layered look with different flavors so I decided try this out yesterday.  He also asked for strawberries so I decided to cut them in halves and put them all over the top.  Strawberries and chocolate...best combo ever!
