Statement Wedges

Top: Thrifted, Skirt: Langford Market, Wedges: Target
It's been pretty chilly out here so when the sun finally decided to grace us with it's presence, I pulled out my prettiest wedges and went bare legs! Oh yeah...that's how I like to do it. This was just a simple weekend outfit to Target and Taco Bell...two of my favorite places. I'm completely obsessed with the Fiery Doritos Locos Tacos...thanks Chris. But back to the outfit, I love stripes and I love love this skirt but I've noticed that I'm becoming a "shoe person" and I really love these wedges. The hint of neon and the graphic pattern on them are just fun and that's what getting dressed up is all about anyway right?

Life Lately

This is from last weekend when we went to hang out in downtown...kissy pics are kinda my favorite.
 2. I recently joined poshmark and I bought these gorgeous gold shoes about 20 minutes after setting up my profile. I just couldn't help myself...they are sooooooooo cute!
3. Hey Scar, I'm trying to get a cute pic of my flowers! This crazy cat is always photoboming me.
4. While everyone at the beginning of the year was chomping on their salads, me and chris were like, large pepporoni please lol
5. Over the weekend I got to pull these babies out. It's now currently cold outside...like freezing. I can't wait for spring to hurry up and get here!
 6. Making shopping wish lists come true makes me my heart happy. I had put this super cute bag on my wish list about 2 1/2 months ago...really excited to call it mine now.
7. My niece just turned 11...I can't even believe where the time goes. This was her deliciously good cake we celebrated with.
8. A little sprinkle here, a little sprinkle there is my current situation whenever there is chocolate, ice cream, or cake.
9. I'm still practicing my hand lettering with watercolor...this is the latest.
10. My new phone case! I like it so much that I like to match it and then take selfies lol but I do have to say my old phone cat case will forever be missed...cat lady for life.

Happy Weekend y'all. Hope it's a good one!

Nail Tutorial // Valentine's Day

Okay, please tell me that I'm not the only one with Valentine's day already on my mind? I'm just one of those girls that gets really excited about all the pink overload and super cute hearts on everything. Which is why I thought we could all use a nail tutorial with a super cute heart...your welcome :)
1. Start by painting your nails with a pretty pink and one accent nail with white.
2. Take a black nail art pen and make thin stripes across the white accent nail.
3. Use a ball point nail tool to form the shape of a heart.
4. Once the heart is completely dry, trace in black with the nail art pen.
5. Let nails dry and top with a clear coat.

Mandatory Style

It's been pretty cool lately, which mean leggings with everything is what I've been wearing. It's pretty much been my mandatory style all throughout last week. I wore this bright romper with my leggings out while brunching with Chris. I actually loved that you could see the romper coming through my sheer blouse...I think it added just the right amount of interest to what could have been a boring black outfit.

Celebration Little Black Dress

Tee: American Eagle, Dress: H&M, Tights: Target, Boots: H&M
Yesterday Chris got some good news about a job opportunity and we decided to have a celebration dinner. Now usually I go and get all dressed up for no reason, but it was nice to actually feel pretty and dressy with a real reason to celebrate and be happy about. Oh and we just got a cold front out here in Texas and I have been freezing my butt off. So thankful for long sleeve tees, tights, and boots right now.
Happy Weekend!

DIY // Mini Journal

With the new year finally here, I decided that what I needed was a small journal to carry around in my purse for when blog ideas come to mind. I like the idea of being able to physically write something down rather than just keeping it stored away on my phone. Plus it's a lot cuter than a boring notepad app.
1. Gather an assortment of scrapbook pages. I decided to cut 8.5x11 sheets in half to make a mini journal.
2. Arrange your sheets in the order you want for your journal and make a crease down the middle.
3. Hole punch your sheets at the top, middle, and bottom. You may have to do a few sheets at a time.
4. Place all your pages back together and tie with pieces of twine.
5. Decorate the cover, I used a simple pattern drawn with a black sharpie and some washi tape.
So cute and all done!

A Pretty Mix

Stripe Top: Langford Market, Floral Blouse: Target, Jeans: Thrifted, Shoes: Thrifted
How has your 2015 been so far? Mine has been pretty great. Over the weekend I stopped by the post office to pick up the cutest gold flats. Did you see the photo I posted on Instagram? Anyhow, this is what I wore that day while running errands. I've always seen other people pull off the stripes and floral pattern mix effortlessly and I finally feel like I have too with this outfit. Oh 2015, you're looking good so far.
Have you pulled off the floral and stripe mix? What's your favorite pattern mix combo?

Happy New Year & 2014 Favorites

2014 was pretty spectacular. I got married this year and it's definitely the highlight of my entire year. My favorite moment to be exact. I always like looking back at the end of the year to see what I accomplished. These are some of my favorites posts from the blog this year.
I shared quite a few nail tutorials this year. This floral one was just too pretty.
Chris built this storage cubby hole stand for me and I painted it. It was a total team effort project.
This is one of my favorite cakes that my mom bakes. I did my own version of it for the 4th of July.
Valentines Day is nearly right around the corner. I made these kiss cupcake toppers last year.
We've been going to Austin at least once a year. I love that place. This was from the first trip of the year.
If you've been reading the blog for awhile, then you know I'm a cat lady. These rhinestone cat ears definitely makes the top of the list for diy projects I shared this year.
Chocolate dipped bananas are soooo good. I'm completely hooked on these.
When my sister made my bridal shower cake, I knew I had to recreate it for the blog. It was way too good not to share. Nutella and peanut butter cup cakes...yum.
I make a bunch of garlands...this floral sequin garland one was a top favorite.
Chris likes to make margaritas for me from time to time...this tequilla crush one was delicious.
My family threw me an amazing bridal shower...i mean just look at the cake?!
My bridesmaid were the best! I shared this fun thank you idea for them.
If I'm going to decorate a pumpkin, it's going to be sparkly...gold confetti pumpkin.
When shark week rolled around this year, I couldn't resist not having cupcakes topped with party sharks. I know sharks are scary but these are pretty cute.
Glitter easter eggs! Anything with glitter makes me happy.
Can't wait to see how great 2015 will be.
