Cheesecake Filled Strawberries

I first made these cheesecake filled strawberries for our New Years party and they were such a hit that I made them again over the weekend. Cheesecake has always been a favorite of mine and when I found this reciepe, I knew I had to try it. They were so easy to make and just so happen to be the perfect bite size of deliciousness.

What You Need
1 lb Strawberries
8 oz (1 package) Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Powder Sugar
1-2 Graham Crackers
1 tsp Vanilla

How To
1. Rinse Strawberries
2. Cut off the top of the strawberries and carve out the center
3. Mix cream cheese, powder sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
4. Add your mix to a piping bag (or ziploc bag, just snip off a corner) and fill the center of the strawberry.
5. Crush your graham cracker and sprinkle on top.
6. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

enjoy!!

The Night I was a Karaoke Queen

Blouse: Langford Market, Skirt: Nasty Gal, Heels: Zara

When I ordered this skirt, I told Chris that the day it came in he would have to take me out that night. I get just a bit excited about new purchases and I couldn't wait to wear it. When it finally came in, we decided to go to our usual bar but the band that was playing that night didn't really spark our interest so we ended up at a new bar. It just so happened to be karaoke night and I got the guts to go up and sing...it must have been the skirt, I just felt great in it. After the first song, the dj kept coming to me asking what song I was going to sing next...all night long. So yeah for the night I was a star lol.

If You Want Something Do It Yourself: Pom Pom Garland

It seems that I'm hooked on making all different kinds of garland. Do you remember the tassel one I shared not too long ago? Anyway I'm getting pretty excited about Valentine's Day and decided to do one in the expected color scheme. This one was really simple and is one of those that is easy to do while watching your favorite show. There's not too much work that goes into it but the end result looks great.

Supplies
Pom Poms
Needle
Thread

The Steps
1. String thread through the eye of the needle and make a knot.
2. Push needle through pom pom.
3. Make a pattern with your pom poms. I found it easier to let the pom poms collect together and gradually move them down the thread.
4. Separate each pom pom so that you have about half an inch between each.
5. Make a small loop on each end of the garland and hang.

Dressed Up

Dress worn as top: Target, Skirt: Thrifted, Belt: Heels: Zara

I haven't worn this skirt in awhile, which is hard to believe...it used to be my favorite. I got this belt sometime before Christmas and decided it was the perfect thing to play dress up with. I wore this for a night out to have a few drinks with the boyfriend Friday night. The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with family over good food (thanks to the boyfriend, I'm so lucky to have a guy that loves to cook).

Photos//01

One of my goals for 2013 was to carry my camera around and take more photos of everything. I'm used to being in front of the lens of the camera but I've always felt like I've neglected playing around with photography...something that I used to really love. These are a few photos I took while taking a walk on a gloomy kind of rainy day.

Have you started on any of your goals for the new year?

The Little Lace Tunic

Cardigan: Target, Tunic: Gifted, Shorts: F21, Tights: ?, Heels: Rebecca Minkoff, Clutch: Gifted

Hi there! It sure is nice to be back. I had a pretty eventful weekend and I'm so happy that it was a 4 day one so I could sneak in one day to completely relax. Most of the weekend was all about moving forward and making new goals. Hopefully the next few months bring up some exciting news.  I wore this lovely little number out to lunch (thanks mom for the tunic), I promise there are shorts under there, they're just really short.  Chris and I have been craving Chinese food for what seems like weeks and we finally got the chance to stop by one of our favorites places over the weekend.

Birds of a Different Color

Dress: Gift, Belt: Target, Leggings: ? Boots: Charlotte Russe

I have to say that there hasn't been anything real eventful going on lately. It seems that all of my free time has been spent either relaxing or working out. Even though it's still early in the new year, I'm really proud of myself for staying disciplined with heading to the gym straight after work...I even went on the weekend. That was a first. The past few days have been rather gloomy with rain hitting off and on, which makes it really hard to get outfit posts. Maybe this weekend...I have a few things that were gifts that I can't wait to share here. Rain, rain, I need you to go away.

Walking in the Night Sky

Cardigan: Target, Shirt: Thrifted Leggings: Romwe, Heels: Zara

These leggings are something I wouldn't have expected myself to wear. They almost seem a bit to daring or out of my comfort zone but the day they went on sale I couldn't help but snatch myself up a pair.  I remember showing Chris a pic of them online and telling him, I'm not sure I'm daring enough to wear these out in public, maybe I'll just wear them around the house. I couldn't love them more...they are so much fun to wear. I did get quite a few stares while shopping but you know what? I don't mind being the girl that doesn't blend in.
