A Lovely Kind of Thought

Yesterday I got all inspired by quotes and wanted to add some inspiring words to a few photos of mine. So far I liked this one the best but I'll share more with you soon.
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

Polka Happy Dots

Top: Ross, Skirt: Delia*s, Heels: Zara

This has to be one of my favorite skirts in my closet. There is something about it, maybe the color combination, the polka dots, or the cute pockets that always make me feel good whenever I wear it.  I'm kind of glad I wore this over the weekend because I'm not so sure I could get away with wearing this outfit anymore. The past few days have finally cooled down and it's starting to feel more and more like time for tights and layers.

Oh and don't you just love all the cows in the background. Every time I take photos in the field, I always get an audience...they are so curious. This one was my favorite.

Bar Stripes

Tee: Target, Cardigan: Thrifted, Jeans: Levi's, Heels: Zara

I wore this outfit over the weekend out to a local bar one night. I was meeting up with Chris so I thought I would wear jeans...he happens to like me better in jeans. It turned out to be a fun low key kind of night with a few beers and games of pool. Chris had been at the bar with his uncle and my cousin came to meet us once I got there. We decided that we would do a guys against girls challenge at pool and of course you know who won...yup girls rule!

Thanksgiving Look

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the holiday with lots of family. I spent mine celebrating at my sister's new home and ate way too much all while watching some really good football. It was nice to be around all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins and spend the day just having a good time with each other...I need more days like those.

These were all so good, I took breaks in between just so I could have a bit of each one...delicious.

Day to Night: Plaid Button Up

As it starts to get cooler I always find myself wanting to wear plaid. Although I hardly ever have...for some reason I just want to. I guess it's a sign I need to add it to my closet. Here's how I would style it for a day to night look.

Day
This outfit seems like the kind of outfit I would want to wear for running errands all day and then stopping by Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte...yum.
1. A cute pair of shades.
2. A scarf that's cozy enough to keep you warm when it gets a bit too
chilly, a mustard color one would be my pick.
3. I'm loving these boots and their chunky heel, I would pair them under jeans and
even with skinny jeans or leggings or...ok I'm getting carried away.
4. Jeans with a good flare...I'm usually all about dark jeans but I think a lighter
pair has a better casual feel.

Night
I think this outfit has a nice contrast by keeping everything else all black. It really shows off a casual and polished mix for an interesting night look.
1. A purse that's fun for a night out...tassles? yes please!
2.  A black skirt with length. I would try a leather one, it's one of my favorite trends this season.
3. Basic black booties look good with everything and gives the look more of an edge.
4. Sparkly bobbies...perfect for dressing up your hair.

Which look would you wear? Day? Night? or Both?

Life Lately

1. Scar on the rooftop top of the world...ok maybe my car.
2. Lunch with my mom and sisters...breakfast didn't work out but I'll take a panini and soup.
3. My secret pal at work left these on my desk...now that's the way to start a work day.
4. Staying warm in my Rise Against jacket...love this band so much.
5. Took a few photos like this of my brother over the weekend.
6. Having margarita's for a change...we usually have beer.
7. Not your ordinary flower...Chris made this for me out of tootsie rolls.
8. Trying to get lucky but not really getting lucky at bingo.
9. I've been wearing red lipstick almost everyday lately...feeling a little like Gwen.
10. Organized my closet and realized I've got a rainbow in there.

Leggings and Boots...Finally

Tunic: Marshalls, Leggings: Gifted, Boots: Charlotte Russe, Cardigan: Thrifted

I think this may the first time in a long time I'll be sleeping in on a Monday...which makes me a happy girl. I get the day off and I'll be able to have breakfast with my mom and sisters...coffee and tacos, yum. I usually always works Saturdays at my second job so it's nice to feel like I have a two day weekend for once. Yesterday I took a few photos of my brother...a mini kind of photo shoot. You know that you can usually find me in a dress or skirt but I wanted to be really comfortable so I could move around and wore this, plus it was windy and cool outside so I pulled out my boots and leggings...yay it's beginning to feel like fall around here.

Colorful Stripes and Sequins

Shirt: Langford Market, Shorts: F21, Cardigan: Target, Heels: Zara, Sequin Brooch: DIY

Hey everyone, I'm so happy it's finally Friday!! This week has felt like the longest week ever...I'm not really sure why. Tonight the boyfriend and I are just going to relax and watch music videos and talk all night. We like to do what we call "vevo nights", a few good drinks and good music. It will be a good way to unwind. It's still pretty warm here, so I can get away with wearing short shorts. Believe me I can't wait for cooler weather. I'm looking forward to pulling out the tights and layering my outfits. But until then this is what you get.

Hope you all have a happy weekend!!

Day to Night: Pencil Skirt

During the week you will most likely find me in a pencil skirt. It's my everyday look for work but I think pencil skirts can work for any occasion. Here's I would style a pencil skirt (in oxblood, a favorite color this season) for a day to night look.

Day
1. Keep it casual with a basic tee...knot it up or tuck it in.
2. A Statement necklace is perfect to add some personality to a day look...I like one's with a bit of sparkle.
3. Cute flats...leopard ones have been my favorite this season.

Night:
1. Look ultra sexy for a night out by paring your pencil skirt with a bustier corset top. Showing off some skin balances out with the length of the skirt.
2. A sleek looking clutch looks polished and dressed up with bold gold details.
3. Heels with some serious height...ankle straps always make me feel a bit more glamourous.

Which look would you wear? Day? Night? or Both?

A Pop of Pink

Top: F21, Skirt: Thrifted JCrew, Heels: Zara, Belt: Target (came with dress from previous post)

This past weekend was spent doing quite a bit of celebrating. My sis moved into a new home...yay no more being states or hours away and we had a small gathering. I ended up wearing this outfit for a birthday dinner. I literally have been living in these shoes since the moment I took them out of the box. I've only taken them off to sleep, I seriously don't know why it took me so long to buy them. Have you had any good purchases lately?

Perfect Florals

Dress: Target, Shirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Thrifted

When I first saw this dress, I wanted it but I didn't buy it. The other day I went into Target and it was on clearance...lucky me. I wasn't going to leave it this time. I just love the colors, plum is probably my favorite this season and the combination of all the colors make for pretty fall florals.

Happy Weekend
