Optical Illusion

Cardigan: Thrifted F21, Tank: Thrifted F21, Shorts: Thrifted Express, Heels: Kimchi Blue, Clutch: Jenny Packham
I'm a huge skirts kind of girl so when I found these shorts that had the same kind of flare as a skirt, I was sold. I had to have them and I love that I don't have to worry about the wind blowing anything up...it's been a bit windy the last few days lol. In fact, I almost had a Marilyn Monroe moment walking out of work yesterday when I wore a flowy skirt. I can see these shorts being used a lot during the coming season...I can't wait to pair them with tights and boots in the fall.

What do y'all have planned for the weekend? I'll be celebrating birthdays and doing some cake testing...yum cake. Can't wait!!

Feeling Good

Blouse: Thrifed, Slip: Thrifted, Skirt: Target, Boots: Jeffrey Campbell Litas
For some time I felt like all my closet consisted of was black clothing. Over the past year or so, I've slowly been adding color to my wardrobe. I even uploaded a pic of my closet on instagram..I had a rainbow in there. It feels good to go back, try things out from my old self, step out in all black. For this outfit, I did a bit of layering. A slip underneath and a lace blouse over a skirt...just my normal girly self.
The cows usually don't like it when I'm in their "territory".
This is me doing my best "They're coming" impression in a plants v. zombies voice. Somehow Chris got me hooked on that game. Shortly after I took this pic, I had to end my little photo shoot. They started coming at me pretty fast.
Hope you have a happy Wendesday!

Out in the City

Dress: Marshalls, Heels: Kimchi Blue, Purse: c/o Lulu's, Necklace: Diamente Jewelry
The other day, I did a girls shopping trip with my sisters and mother. It felt nice to step out into the city for a change and walk from store to store. Life's been a bit busy lately and shopping around for pretty new things was a perfect way to get away from all the fuss. Oh and to top it all off, the night ended with Sprinkles cupcakes. Doesn't get much better than that.
Oh and I'm sharing some pretty exciting news tomorrow...just fyi.

Sweet Spot for Scallops

Top: Target, Shorts: Langford Market, Heels: Image
Last weekend while at the Texas Style Conference, I took a workshop about self photography. Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky is hilarious and gave some helpful tips on the subject. I decided that this weekend would be my perfect chance to test it out. Consider this outfit post as self photography take 1. Not so bad for my first time in front of the self timer on my camera...I'm a good student I guess. I bought these shorts while shopping in downtown Austin last week. I thought the scallop edges were the cutest and knew they would a great addition to my summer wardrobe...loving them so far.

Beaded Beauty

Dress: Thrifted F21, Wedges: F21, Clutch: Jenny Packam
While in Austin there was so much to do (many happy moments over the weekend) but Chris and I managed to sneak in an outfit shoot at least one of the days. Even though I went for a blogging event, I wanted to spend some alone time with Chris just wandering the city and have fun making memories in a new city for us. In between classes and the prom party that night we walked around downtown and found a place to have lunch...oh and of course I couldn't resist a little shopping. This is the dress I wore the second day we were there. It's kind of perfect for me because I'm so bad at accessorizing but this dress has such a standout bodice I don't really need anything...win win.

Lucky Stripes

Dress worn as top: Marshalls, Skirt: F21, Heels: Thrifted
Usually during the summer you wouldn't catch me wearing a long skirt. I thought for dinner though, I might just switch it up. Me and Chris went out for a "last meal" dinner. You know the ones you have before a new workout and nutrition plan and you eat whatever you want. Yeah, it was so good. What's better than pasta, wine, and sitting across from the best guy? I'm a lucky girl.

Monochromatically Speaking

Denim Button Up: Target, Skirt: Thrifted
Here's another all blue outfit...and yes I promise, I'm wearing shoes. lol. I love the casual girly feel of this look with a denim top and shimmery skirt. It's a fun combination. These were some lost forgotten photos from about a month that I found on my laptop today. I remember asking Chris that day to take some photos of what I was wearing and the camera died on us about 3 photos in. We ended up sitting in the grass and talking until the sun went down. Somehow my camera turned back on while he was messing with it and he was able to snap a few photos of the sunset...aren't they just gorgeous? He likes to take pictures of scenery, nature, flowers...all that good stuff. I think he's amazing.
Hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Into the Blue

Blouse: Target, Skirt: F21, Wedges: Thrifted Rocket Dog
Just a simple outfit. Blue on blue, mixed of different shades and texture. I didn't feel like dressing it up with heels so I went with summer wedges. Wearing a skirt like this can be dangerous in the wind. Dangerous but fun. I love the way it flows in the wind. This was a movie date outfit. To be quite honest   I've been having a lot of movie date outfits lately. Three in the past week to be exact.

When You Least Expect It

Blouse: Nasty Gal, Skirt: F21, Heels: Zara

Every now and then I'll ask Chris if he thinks I should wear this or that. Yes, I take fashion advice from my boyfriend...I trust him. He loves me in jeans, and I've never really given him the option to pick between jeans or a skirt until this day. Imagine my shock when he said to go with the skirt. What?!? I knew I loved this guy.

Hope you all have a happy weekend

The Night I was a Karaoke Queen

Blouse: Langford Market, Skirt: Nasty Gal, Heels: Zara

When I ordered this skirt, I told Chris that the day it came in he would have to take me out that night. I get just a bit excited about new purchases and I couldn't wait to wear it. When it finally came in, we decided to go to our usual bar but the band that was playing that night didn't really spark our interest so we ended up at a new bar. It just so happened to be karaoke night and I got the guts to go up and sing...it must have been the skirt, I just felt great in it. After the first song, the dj kept coming to me asking what song I was going to sing next...all night long. So yeah for the night I was a star lol.
